Can ezetimibe cause elevated liver enzymes?

My doctor recently put me on Ezetimibe for my cholesterol. Just had my blood tests done and my liver enzyme levels are a bit high. Could this new medicine be causing that, or should I be worried about something else?

Yes, ezetimibe can sometimes cause your liver enzymes to spike, especially if you take it with statins. While you talk to your doc about adjusting the dose, focusing on a clean diet and light daily exercise can really help manage your cholesterol levels naturally.

I completely understand how stressful it is when your blood reports show high liver enzymes out of nowhere. I panicked so much when it happened to me while taking cholesterol pills. It's really scary, but please know that it can be managed once your doctor adjusts the treatment.

Yes, this is a known side effect of cholesterol-lowering medicines like ezetimibe. For safety, please do not ignore this or wait for symptoms. Go get a simple blood test for liver enzymes and consult your doctor to see if you need to switch medications.

It is definitely possible for liver enzymes to elevate with this medication. Along with whatever medical changes your doctor suggests, try to include a 30-minute brisk walk daily to support your metabolic health, provided your doctor says it's okay for you.

When my father was prescribed this, his doctor at Max Hospital clearly told us to monitor his liver enzymes every few months. Yes, it can cause elevation, so please schedule an appointment and ask your doctor clearly if you need to modify the dose or do regular blood tests.

Yes, it can. My liver enzymes shot up quite high when I was on cholesterol medications, and I had to stop them under my doctor's supervision. Please get a regular liver function test (LFT) done and show the reports to your doctor immediately.

As someone managing PCOS, I know how sensitive our liver and metabolic health can be with medications. Ezetimibe can occasionally affect liver enzymes, so it's always better to be cautious. I'd highly suggest getting a proper consultation with your physician to discuss this safely.
