Can extreme stress cause a stroke?

My family has been going through a very difficult time, and I'm feeling constantly overwhelmed and stressed. I've started getting headaches and dizziness. Can prolonged, extreme stress potentially lead to a stroke?

I feel my head throbbing and neck getting so stiff whenever I am extremely stressed at work. Does anyone else get this panic that their blood pressure is spiking dangerously high during stress?

Extreme stress can cause sudden blood pressure spikes, which is a major risk factor for strokes. Please ensure you are monitoring your blood pressure regularly and practicing simple relaxation techniques daily.

Listen, don't stress too much about all these scary things you read online. Just take a deep breath, go for a quick walk, and try to disconnect from work on the weekends to give your brain a break.
