Can exercise induced asthma kill you?

My son was recently diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma, and he had a scary attack after playing football. My biggest fear is something serious happening. I'm really worried, can exercise-induced asthma actually be fatal?

While extreme cases can be risky, it is highly manageable if you stay prepared. Always keep your doctor-prescribed emergency inhaler with you when working out and stop immediately if you feel tight.

It can become dangerous if you ignore the warning signs and push through severe breathlessness. Just listen to your body, take your medication as prescribed, and don't try to be a hero during workouts.

I get so terrified of this because my throat closes up during heavy running. Does anyone else get this intense fear of suffocating, or is it just my anxiety making it worse?

Doing gentle pranayama helps strengthen the lungs, but severe asthma attacks are very serious. Please do not rely on home remedies alone and see a specialist to keep your rescue meds ready.

My son had this during his school days and we were very scared. But with proper guidance from a good doctor, he learned how to manage it safely and never had any major emergencies.

Honestly, walking up two flights of stairs makes me feel like I am meeting my ancestors. Jokes aside, serious breathing trouble is scary, so definitely keep your inhaler handy and don't ignore it.

Personally, my doctor explained that severe, unmanaged attacks can be dangerous. Knowing this, I always carry my inhaler and strictly avoid outdoor jogging on highly polluted or cold days.
