Can exercise cause piles?

I've recently started a new, intense gym routine, including a lot of heavy lifting. Around the same time, I noticed I've developed piles, which is very uncomfortable. Is it true that certain types of exercise can actually cause piles?

From what I have seen over the years, heavy weightlifting with improper breathing (like holding your breath while lifting) can put immense pressure on your lower abdomen and cause piles. However, normal exercises like walking or yoga actually prevent constipation and piles. Don't worry, just focus on proper form and a high-fiber diet.

I totally get it, dealing with piles is incredibly uncomfortable and can make you hesitant to do any physical activity. While regular moderate movement helps, heavy straining during workouts can aggravate hemorrhoids. Please take it easy, drink plenty of water, and consult a doctor if the pain continues.

In our family, we always emphasize drinking warm milk with a little ghee at night to keep the stomach clean, as constipation is the main root of piles. Intense gym exercises that require too much abdominal strain should be avoided. Do gentle walking instead, and consult an Ayurvedic physician or doctor if there is bleeding.

I am a bit shy to discuss this, but I recently started heavy squats and have been feeling a lot of discomfort in that area. Can heavy squats actually cause piles to develop, or does it only happen if you already have digestion issues? I would really appreciate some advice.

Beta, running and walking are very good for the body and will not cause piles. But if you lift very heavy weights without habit, it puts pressure down there and can cause swelling. Eat lots of green vegetables, drink water, and please see a doctor if you feel pain.
