Can endometriosis cause cancer?

My aunt has endometriosis, and recently her friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Now I'm really worried, is there any connection? Can endometriosis actually lead to cancer?

I had this exact same fear when I was first diagnosed! While there is a very slightly higher risk of certain ovarian cancers, it is extremely rare, so please don't stress.

Listen, don't worry. Endometriosis is a benign condition, meaning it is not cancer itself. Just keep doing your regular checkups with your doctor to stay safe.

Endometriosis is benign, so try not to panic about cancer. It is always best to discuss your specific symptoms and family history with your gynecologist for peace of mind.

I've had endo for over a decade. It does not directly turn into cancer, but long-term inflammation should always be monitored with yearly pelvic ultrasounds.

I am newly diagnosed and really scared reading things online. Does having severe endometriosis mean the risk is much higher, or is it generally very safe?

Don't stress too much, yaar! Endo is super painful but it is definitely not cancer. Just follow your doctor's advice and take care of your health.
