Can eczema spread by touch?

My younger daughter has eczema on her arms and legs, and her older sister often plays with her, touching her skin. I'm a bit concerned, you see. Can eczema spread to someone else just by touching the affected skin?

I used to panic that my family would get it if they touched my arms, but my doctor told me it is completely non-contagious. Eczema is just an internal skin reaction, so you can hug your loved ones without any worry.

No beta, it does not spread by touching other people. It is not like scabies or ringworm. Just keep your skin clean and apply some coconut oil mixed with a little camphor to soothe the irritation.

I know how isolating it feels when you have visible patches and worry about touching anyone. But please remember, it is totally safe and non-contagious. You cannot pass it on to anyone, so don't feel conscious.

No, it is not contagious at all. You cannot spread it to anyone else by touching them.

No, eczema is not infectious at all, so it cannot spread to someone else by touch. However, touching it with dirty hands can introduce bacteria into your own skin. It is best to follow your dermatologist's advice for proper hygiene.

It definitely does not spread by touching others. Since my thyroid fluctuations cause skin dryness, my eczema flares up, but my family has never caught it. Keep up with your doctor visits to manage it well.
