Can eczema look like ringworm?

I have this persistent, circular red rash with slightly raised edges on my arm, and it's quite itchy. My wife thinks it looks like ringworm, but I suspect it could be eczema. Can eczema sometimes look very similar to ringworm?

Yes, nummular eczema forms circular patches that look identical to ringworm. Don't start buying OTC antifungal creams based on Google searches. Get a dermatologist to look under a microscope to confirm what it actually is.

Haan yaar, bilkul dikh sakta hai. Nummular eczema bolte hain jo bilkul ringworm jaise gol patches jaisa lagta hai. Log aksar galti se antifungal cream lagane lagte hain, toh pehle doc se check karwa lena chahiye na.

Oh, they are absolute twins in looks! 😅 Nummular eczema has those exact same round shapes. Just show it to a doctor once so you get the right cream and your skin gets happy again!

My son had a round red patch on his leg last winter and I thought it was ringworm from playing in the mud. The doctor checked and said it was actually dry eczema. So please don't panic and just get a proper cream from a pediatrician.

Yes, circular eczema patches look a lot like ringworm. Since I have thyroid issues, my skin is always dry and prone to weird rashes. I always make sure to do my regular blood tests and visit my skin specialist whenever a new patch shows up.

They look very similar, so instead of wasting money buying random creams that don't work, it is cheaper to pay a doctor's consultation fee once. A single correct skin test can save you thousands of rupees on wrong treatments.
