Can eczema get infected?

My eczema patches sometimes get really red, warm, and painful, and they even start to weep. My mom says it looks like an infection. Can eczema patches actually get infected if I scratch them too much or if they get too moist?

Yes, it definitely can! If you scratch it too much with dirty nails, bacteria can enter the cracked skin. So try your best to keep your hands off the itchy spots and apply ice packs instead 😊

Oh, for sure! Scratching it like a wild bear is an open invitation for germs to party there. If you see pus or yellow crust, your scratch-fest has officially crossed the line. Time to visit the doc and stop the itching contest!

Yes, secondary bacterial infections are very common with eczema. If you notice swelling, oozing, or warmth in that area, don't wait around. Get an antibiotic cream prescribed by your dermatologist immediately.

I didn't know eczema could actually get infected. My skin is looking a bit wet and yellow today, is that a sign of infection? Should I wash it with antiseptic liquid or just go directly to a skin clinic?

Haan na, infection ka darr rehta hai hamesha. Scratch karne se skin open ho jati hai aur fir pus nikalne lagta hai. My doctor told me to cut my nails short so that unconscious scratching doesn't cause any bacterial infection.

Our bodies are sensitive, and when the skin barrier breaks, infections can happen. Keep your mind peaceful and don't worry. Just focus on keeping the area clean, eat pure food, and let the doctor guide your healing journey.

Honestly, scratch it in your sleep once and boom, it is red, painful, and infected. I spend half my night trying not to itch and the other half regretting the scratch. Please use a good thick moisturizer so you don't end up needing antibiotics like I did.
