Can eczema cause lymph nodes to swell?

Sometimes, when my eczema is really bad on my neck or armpits, I feel like the lymph nodes in those areas become tender and a bit swollen. Is this a common occurrence? Can severe eczema cause lymph nodes to swell up?

Ah, the joys of getting older and having your body raise alarms for everything! Yes, when my eczema gets badly infected from my constant scratching, the lymph nodes near my neck swell up like small marbles. It is just the body's security guard system fighting off the dirt we rub into our skin.

Please do not ignore swollen lymph nodes. I once had a small eczema patch that got infected, and my groin lymph nodes swelled up, but I ignored it until I got a high fever and needed strong antibiotics. Go get it checked by a doctor right away to be safe.

As someone who works closely with patients, I can tell you that severe eczema or any skin infection from scratching can definitely cause nearby lymph nodes to swell. It's just your immune system responding to the skin barrier breakdown. Keep the skin clean, but if the swelling persists or gets painful, please consult a doctor.

Between my baby keeping me awake all night and my itchy eczema, discovering a swollen lymph node was the perfect cherry on top. 😂 But honestly, my doctor said it is common when the skin is inflamed. Just get a quick medical opinion so you can sleep easier.

Yes, if your skin is raw or infected from the eczema, your lymph nodes can definitely swell up. Best to get a doctor to check it.

I have dealt with this during severe eczema flares on my neck. When the skin barrier is broken, bacteria get in and cause the lymph nodes to swell in response. The key is to stop scratching, use an antibacterial soap if your doctor advises, and keep the skin moisturized.

Dude, I panicked so hard when I felt a small lump near my neck during an eczema breakout. My doctor told me it is just the lymph node reacting to the skin irritation. It went away on its own once my skin started healing, so don't stress too much.

I completely understand how scary it is to find a swollen lymph node, as my mind immediately jumps to the worst possible things. Eczema causes a lot of skin irritation and sometimes minor infections, which is a very common cause of swelling. Try to breathe and just let a doctor examine it to reassure you.
