Can eczema appear later in life?

My father, who is 60, has suddenly started developing these very itchy, dry patches on his legs and arms, which look like what I've seen described as eczema. He's never had skin issues before. Is it possible for eczema to appear later in life, or could it be something else?

Haan bhai, bilkul ho sakta hai. Isko late-onset eczema bolte hain, aur ye aam baat hai. Umra ke saath skin dry ho jati hai aur immunity bhi badalti hai, isliye ho jata hai. Chinta mat karo, bas dhang ke doctor se ilaaj shuru karo.

Haan, baad me bhi ho sakta hai par iske liye bohot mehnge tests ki zaroorat nahi hoti. Shuru me kisi saste local clinic pe jaakar dermatologist se mil lo, unki sasti ointments aur normal petroleum jelly se hi kafi kaam ban jata hai.

Don't stress too much, mere chacha ko bhi abhi late age me hi hua tha. Sabko lagta hai bacho ki bimari hai par aisa nahi hai. Tum bas regular skin moisturizing karo, ye darr dimaag se nikal do bilkul.

Mujhe pichle mahine hi achanak legs par red patches dikhne lage, jabki pehle kabhi nahi tha. Doctor ne bola eczema hai par kya kisi aur ko bhi 30s ya 40s me achanak ye hua hai? Main bohot darr gaya hoon ki ye permanently toh nahi rahega.

Ji haan, badi umar me bhi ye pehli baar aa sakta hai. Aap pareshan mat hoiye, yeh sahi lotion aur doctor ki salah se aasani se control ho jata hai.

Yes, absolutely. Adult-onset eczema is a well-documented medical condition. Aging skin loses moisture rapidly, making it more prone to flare-ups. Just get a proper consult from a certified dermatologist and start a barrier repair cream.
