Can eating burnt food cause cancer?

Sometimes when I make roti or grill vegetables, they get a bit burnt or charred. I heard somewhere that eating burnt food can be linked to cancer. Is there any truth to this, or is it just a myth?

I totally get it, reading these things online can be really scary and stressful. Burnt food contains chemicals like acrylamide which are linked to health risks, but eating a slightly charred toast or roti once in a while won't cause cancer. Just try to scrape off the burnt parts and eat fresh.

In our old days, we always discarded fully burnt food because it is bad for digestion and overall health. Eating slightly overcooked food occasionally is fine, but do not make it a habit. Focus on fresh, simple home-cooked meals and keep your digestion clean.

Managing my thyroid has taught me that general lifestyle and reducing toxic load on the body is very important. Burnt foods do have toxins, so it is healthier to avoid them. Make sure to get your regular health checkups and blood tests done to stay on top of your overall well-being.

When we asked the oncologist at our hospital during my uncle's treatment, they explained that burnt or charred foods contain carcinogens like acrylamide. While eating it occasionally isn't an immediate threat, it is best to avoid heavily charred meats or toast as a precaution. Do consult your doctor for a clear understanding.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Eating a slightly burnt slice of bread or a crispy tandoori roti once in a blue moon is not going to do anything to you. Just avoid eating heavily charred stuff regularly and enjoy your food normally!

There are so many exaggerated claims on the internet that make people panic about everything they eat. While heavily burnt food has some harmful compounds, eating a slightly dark paratha won't instantly cause cancer. Don't believe random Google articles and speak to a qualified doctor if you have real concerns.
