Can eating beetroot cause kidney stones?

A friend of mine recently suffered from kidney stones, and she was told to be careful with certain foods. I love having beetroot juice regularly for its health benefits. Does eating beetroot frequently increase the risk of developing kidney stones?

Beetroot is high in oxalates, which can contribute to calcium oxalate kidney stones if you are already prone to them. If you have a history of stones, it is better to limit beetroot and drink plenty of water. For healthy individuals, eating it in normal food quantities is absolutely fine.

I completely understand the anxiety around this because dealing with kidney stone pain is absolutely terrifying. When I was diagnosed, I was scared to eat so many veggies, including beetroot. It is really stressful, but once you consult a doctor and understand your stone type, it gets much easier to manage.

Actually, beetroot has high oxalates, so if you already have stone issues, it can trigger them yaar. But if you are healthy, eating it in salad occasionally is totally fine. Just don't go drinking beetroot juice every single day without checking with a doctor.

Yes, beetroot is high in oxalates which can cause kidney stones in susceptible people. Make sure to drink lots of water to help flush out toxins.

I had this same doubt because I love beetroot juice for my skin! My doctor told me that unless you have a history of calcium oxalate stones, eating beetroot normally won't cause stones. Just drink enough water throughout the day to keep your kidneys healthy.

Bro, my dad had kidney stones and the doctor literally told him to cut down on beetroot and spinach because of oxalates. If you don't have any stone history, you probably don't need to worry, but don't overdo the beetroot juice.
