Can dust mites cause eczema?

My daughter has been suffering from eczema since she was a baby, and it flares up often. I'm trying to identify all possible triggers in our home. I've heard about dust mites; can they actually cause eczema outbreaks?

I completely understand how stressful it is when your skin starts flaring up and you don't know why. Yes, dust mites are a very common trigger that can make eczema much worse. Your anxiety is valid, but managing dust can really help.

Yes, they absolutely do. Dust mite droppings contain proteins that trigger allergic reactions and flare up eczema. Vacuum your mattress regularly and get anti-allergy covers.

I read so much about this and got so paranoid about my bed sheets! Dust mites don't directly cause eczema from scratch, but they definitely trigger bad flares if you already have sensitive skin. Washing sheets in hot water helped me sleep better.

Honestly, dealing with eczema flares from dusty carpets was so emotionally draining for me. It is incredibly frustrating to keep scratching all night. Just know you aren't alone, and controlling the dust does bring relief.

Yes, keeping a clean and dust-free environment is essential. Practicing gentle pranayama also helps lower stress, which is another major trigger for eczema flares. Keep your mind calm and your space clean.

I just recovered from a terrible eczema flare-up on my arms. My doctor confirmed it was due to dust mites in my old curtains. I washed everything and the itching stopped almost immediately.
