Can drinking cause kidney failure?

My doctor recently checked my kidney function, and the results were borderline. I've had a habit of having a few drinks almost every evening for many years. Could my drinking be a direct cause of potential kidney failure?

Oh my god, yes, heavy drinking is a huge risk factor for kidney failure because of how it raises blood pressure and dehydrates the organs. I constantly worry about these things too. Please go and get a kidney function test done from a lab, it is better to be safe than sorry!

Bro, yes, drinking too much alcohol can definitely mess up your kidneys and even cause kidney failure over time. I read that binge drinking can also cause sudden kidney injury. It is better to keep the drinking in control and stay hydrated.

I am new here and don't know much about this, but is kidney failure only a risk for people who drink every day, or can social drinking also cause it? It sounds really scary. I think speaking to a doctor would be the best way to understand the actual risk.

Your kidneys are basically your body's service center, and if you keep sending them alcohol instead of water, they might just resign! Jokes apart, yes, heavy drinking can lead to kidney failure. Give those poor kidneys a break and meet a doctor if you feel any discomfort.

Yes, it can. Chronic alcohol use damages the kidneys' ability to filter blood, which can eventually lead to failure. My uncle went through something similar and it was really tough. Please reduce your alcohol intake and talk to a doctor for a checkup, taking care of yourself is so important.
