Can drinking cause abdominal pain?

After a night out with friends where I drink more than usual, I often wake up with really bad abdominal pain. I always just thought it was a hangover, but I'm curious. Can the alcohol itself directly cause this kind of stomach pain?

Oh god, yes it definitely can. I always stress out when my stomach hurts after even one drink, thinking it is something big. It could just be acidity or gastritis, but please consult a doc if the pain is severe or doesnt go away.

Mere saath bhi yahi hua tha last month, severe stomach ache after weekend drinks. Doc told me my stomach lining got irritated because of alcohol and prescribed some antacids. I completely stopped drinking for two weeks and had simple home food, now I am perfectly fine.

Alcohol is very acidic and harsh on your digestive tract, especially if you drink on an empty stomach. Try to eat a good, light meal beforehand and drink lots of water. If you keep getting abdominal pain, its better to take a break from drinking and observe your diet.

Alcohol creates a lot of heat and toxins in our digestive system, which naturally leads to pain and discomfort. Gentle deep breathing and Vajrasana after light meals can help digestion, but you must first give your system a rest. Let your body heal naturally by avoiding alcohol for a few days.

Yes, drinking can irritate the stomach lining or even affect other organs. Since I have thyroid issues, I have realized how important it is to keep getting regular blood tests and body checkups. Don't ignore stomach pain, it is always safest to get a doctor to check it out properly.

Honestly, yes, alcohol is a major trigger for acidity and gut inflammation. If you are drinking heavy or mixing drinks, abdominal pain is bound to happen. Just cut down the alcohol, drink plenty of water, and if the pain is sharp or persistent, don't wait and go see a doctor immediately.

A lot of people in this group have asked similar questions, beta. Drinking definitely irritates the stomach and can cause bloating or sharp pain. Drink warm water, eat simple khichdi, and let your stomach rest. If it still hurts after a day, please visit your local family doctor.

Yes, it can cause pain sometimes because alcohol is tough on the stomach. Take rest, drink some coconut water, and don't worry too much. Hope you feel better soon.
