Can diet and exercise reverse diabetes?

I've just been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, and my doctor suggested lifestyle changes. I've heard some people say that proper diet and regular exercise can actually reverse diabetes. Is this truly possible, or just a myth?

I was just diagnosed with borderline high sugar and I am really scared. Can we actually reverse it completely if we strictly cut out sugar and walk daily? I would really love to hear if anyone has successfully done this without taking daily pills.

I totally get it, managing diabetes feels like a constant struggle with food and physical exhaustion. My father managed to bring his HbA1c down from 8.2 to 5.8 just by changing his diet and walking twice a day. It takes a lot of patience, but you can definitely put it into remission.

Yes, Type 2 diabetes can definitely be managed and even put into remission with a strict low-carb diet and regular exercise. I have seen many people in this community stop their medicines under doctor supervision. Just stay consistent with your routine and keep checking your blood sugar regularly.

Hey, don't stress too much about the diagnosis! It is totally manageable, and yes, clean eating and regular gym or walking can do wonders. Just take it one day at a time, make small changes in your meals, and you will see your numbers improve surely.
