Can diabetics use steroids?

My doctor prescribed some steroids for my joint pain, but I also have diabetes. I'm a bit worried if they will affect my blood sugar levels. Is it generally safe for diabetics to take steroids?

My doctor suggested a mild steroid spray for my sinus, but I am very scared because of my high sugar levels. Will even small doses spike my blood sugar immediately, or is it only for oral tablets?

My doctor warned me that steroids cause severe insulin resistance, pushing blood glucose very high. When I had to take them for a severe skin allergy, we had to temporarily increase my daily insulin dose and monitor sugars every 4 hours. Never take them without strict medical supervision.

Steroids can really disrupt your metabolic balance and spike your insulin levels. If they are absolutely necessary for a medical condition, work very closely with your endocrinologist to manage your diabetes medications during the course.

Haan, steroids se sugar levels bohot jaldi badhte hain na. If your doctor has prescribed them for some allergy or pain, make sure they know you have diabetes. Inse sugar thoda out of control ho jata hai.

I know how stressful it is when you need steroids for some other pain but fear the massive sugar spike. It feels like a losing battle sometimes. Just remember it is temporary, and your doctor can help you adjust your diabetes medicines to handle the spike safely.
