Can diabetics use creatine?

I'm actively involved in weight training and several of my gym buddies use creatine to improve performance. Since I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I want to make sure it's safe for me. Can diabetics use creatine without any adverse effects?

Honestly, creatine is not very expensive to buy, but you have to think about the cost of kidney function tests. My doctor made me do a creatinine serum test first which costed around 300 rupees. If you are diabetic, getting regular kidney panels is a must before adding any heavy supplement, so plan your budget for those lab tests first.

Please get your kidney function checked before you touch creatine. I ignored my high blood sugar for months thinking nothing would happen, and it ended up affecting my microalbumin levels. Now I am extremely careful and don't take any gym supplements without a full doctor's checkup.

If you want to build strength, just stick to normal home-cooked high protein food first like paneer, dal, and eggs. Creatine can sometimes put extra pressure on your kidneys if your sugar levels are not fully controlled. Why take extra risk when simple dietary adjustments can do the job safely?

In our times we didn't have all these fancy powders, we just relied on good home food. But I know youngsters love fitness now. Just take care of your kidneys, my friend, diabetes is a silent disease and excess supplements can sometimes load the system. Keep your doctor in the loop.

You can definitely use it, but you need to double your water intake. Creatine pulls water into your muscles, and if you are diabetic, dehydration can spike your blood sugar levels. Keep tracking your fasting levels daily when you start taking it.

Actually, you can use it, but check your EGFR and creatinine levels first yaar. If those are normal, then creatine actually helps with insulin sensitivity too. Just don't go overboard with the dosage and drink plenty of water.

I totally get it, you want to stay fit and build muscle but this diagnosis makes everything feel so complicated. Don't worry, many diabetics safely use creatine. Just take it slow, do your blood tests, and work closely with your health team so you can lift weights safely.

I have been diabetic for six years and I go to the gym regularly. My doctor allowed creatine but only because my HbA1c is stable around 6.3 and my kidney tests are perfectly normal. If your sugars are fluctuating, it's better to avoid it till you get them in range.

My son is Type 1 diabetic and loves going to the gym. We asked his diabetologist about creatine, and she said it's okay as long as his kidney reports are clean and he drinks plenty of water. Just make sure to monitor the blood sugar closely during the initial days.

Haan, log gym ke liye use toh karte hain par diabetes mein thoda dhyan rakhna padta hai na. If your kidneys are perfectly healthy then it is fine. But bina doctor se puche seedha dabba mat khareedna, checkup zaroori hai.

I completely understand the anxiety around choosing supplements when you have diabetes, I used to overthink every single scoop of protein. It is totally normal to feel scared. Just talk to your doctor once to clear your mind, they will guide you based on your latest lab reports.

Research shows creatine might actually improve glucose tolerance, but it's heavily dependent on your renal health. Since diabetes can impact the kidneys over time, it is highly recommended to get a clearance from your nephrologist or diabetologist before starting.
