Can diabetics take tylenol extra strength?

My doctor said I could take Tylenol for my chronic back pain, but I often need the extra strength kind. As a diabetic, I'm concerned about higher dosages. Is Tylenol Extra Strength safe for diabetics to use regularly for pain management?

Beta, taking such strong medicines can be heavy on the liver, especially when you already have diabetes. For minor aches, try a gentle warm mustard oil massage or some steam. If you must take Tylenol Extra Strength, make sure to ask your doctor if your kidney and liver functions are fine first.

I have answered this for many group members before. Tylenol Extra Strength is generally safe for diabetics because acetaminophen doesn't spike blood sugar like some other painkillers do. Just be careful not to exceed the daily limit, and check with your doc if you are taking other medications.

I was actually researching this online for my mother who is diabetic. From what I read on medical portals, the active ingredient is safe and doesn't alter blood sugar, but the 'extra strength' dosage means you should definitely run it by your doctor to ensure it doesn't interact with other prescription pills.

I always try home remedies like drinking ginger water or applying a cold compress for pain first. But if the pain is too severe, taking an extra strength Tylenol is quite safe for diabetics and won't affect your glucose. Just don't make it a daily habit without consulting your physician.

My uncle has diabetes and he uses the extra strength Tylenol for his knee pain sometimes. He has never had any issues with his sugar readings because of it. Just make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach, that's what he does.

Oh, when a bad headache hits, you can't even enjoy your favorite food! My doctor told me Tylenol Extra Strength is fine for diabetics, but I always make sure to have a light sandwich or some oats before taking it so my stomach doesn't get upset.
