Can diabetics take creatine monohydrate?

My gym instructor recommended creatine monohydrate to help with my workout recovery and strength. Since I have diabetes, I'm worried if it could impact my blood sugar levels or have other side effects. Is this supplement safe for diabetics?

My son has juvenile diabetes and wanted to take this for his fitness routine. We consulted his endocrinologist who advised us that it is safe but only if kidney tests are clear. Please get a simple blood test done before starting him on it.

Honestly, I panicked so much when my brother started taking creatine because of his sugar issues. But his doc explained that pure monohydrate doesn't affect blood glucose directly. It turned out to be completely fine, just keep checking your levels regularly.

Don't stress, it is generally safe for diabetics and even helps with muscle insulin sensitivity. Just make sure you are buying a reputed brand with no added sugars. And pls stay hydrated, that is very important when taking creatine.

I always believe in getting our strength from natural foods like sprouts and soaked almonds instead of powders. But if you really need creatine, it is better to ask your physician. If you ever feel any back pain or changes in urination, stop it immediately and go to a clinic.

At this age, my body hurts just looking at a dumbbell, but my doctor said creatine is fine for sugar control if my kidneys can take it. Just don't go drinking sugar-loaded sports drinks with it or your glucose monitor will start screaming at you.
