Can diabetics soak their feet in vinegar?

My grandmother used to say that soaking feet in vinegar water helps with many issues. I have diabetes, and I'm always looking for ways to keep my feet healthy. Is it safe for diabetics to soak their feet in vinegar?

Please do not do this. I tried a vinegar foot soak once for a minor issue and it severely irritated my skin, leading to an infection that took months to heal. Go see a proper doctor for any foot issues instead of trying this.

My dad has diabetes and his doctor strictly told us no foot soaks of any kind, including vinegar. Vinegar is highly acidic and can really dry out and damage sensitive diabetic skin. It's just not worth the risk.

As someone who exercises a lot, I know foot hygiene is key, but vinegar is too aggressive for diabetic feet. Better to wear moisture-wicking socks and keep your feet dry and clean to prevent fungal issues.

I used to think vinegar soaks would help with foot odor, but my skin ended up peeling and cracking terribly. Once my doctor explained the risks of diabetic foot complications, I stopped doing it immediately.

Honestly, vinegar soaks are a bad idea. With diabetes, foot skin integrity is critical, and acidic solutions can cause micro-tears. Save your time and avoid potential medical emergencies by consulting a doctor first.

My teenage son has Type 1 diabetes and we are very careful with his feet. His specialist explicitly warned us against vinegar or salt soaks because they weaken the skin. We just wash his feet gently with mild soap every day.
