Can diabetics soak their feet?

My doctor always stresses about foot care for diabetics. I often feel my feet get tired, and a good soak would feel relaxing. Is it generally safe for diabetics to soak their feet in plain warm water?

I wanted to soak my tired feet after work, but my doctor gave me a strict warning. Apparently, soaking prune-dry diabetic feet is a big no-no. Now I just put my feet up on a pillow and watch TV instead!

Soaking feet for too long can weaken the skin tissue, which isn't good if you are diabetic. If your feet are sore from walking or workouts, a gentle massage with olive oil is a much safer way to recover.

We generally advise diabetic patients not to soak their feet. It can lead to maceration, where the skin becomes soft, soggy, and breaks down easily, raising infection risks. Just wash and pat dry immediately.

It is safer not to soak your feet as it can cause dryness and infections. Just wash them normally and keep them clean.

Haan, foot soak bilkul avoid karna chahiye. Diabetic logon ki skin thodi sensitive hoti hai na, toh infection ka darr rehta hai. Bas normal wash karo aur acche se dry rakho.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! While a foot soak sounds super relaxing, it's actually not recommended for diabetics because it dries out the skin. Maybe try a nice, gentle dry foot massage instead?

No need for foot soaks. Just wash your feet daily with a mild soap during your normal bath, dry them completely with a clean towel, especially between the toes, and apply some basic cold cream.

In my experience, soaking my feet always made them extremely dry and itchy afterward. My doctor told me to avoid it completely, so now I only wash them quickly and apply moisturizer immediately.
