Can diabetics have tomatoes?

Tomatoes are a fundamental part of almost all Indian curries and sabzis. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes recently, and I'm reviewing everything we eat. Are tomatoes safe for diabetics to consume regularly?

Haan bhai, tamatar toh humare khane ki jaan hain. Isme shakar bohot kam hoti hai aur ye sehat ke liye bohot badhiya hai. Aap bina kisi chinta ke sabji aur salad mein tamatar kha sakte hain.

I used to panic thinking even tomatoes have carbs and would spike my blood sugar. But I was so wrong, they are actually very low-glycemic and packed with lycopene. I eat them daily in my salads now and my sugar is perfectly fine.

Tomatoes are excellent for both diabetes and high blood pressure because they contain potassium and antioxidants. Just make sure to eat them fresh and keep getting your kidney function and BP checked regularly.

Haan yaar, tamatar toh bilkul safe hain, dhyan rakhna ki market ke packed tomato ketchup mat khana na, usme bohot sugar hoti hai. Normal tamatar salad mein ya sabji mein khao, koi problem nahi hogi.

Yes, tomatoes are perfectly fine and highly recommended. If you are busy, just chop one up with cucumber for a quick evening snack. Just avoid commercial tomato soups which often have added corn starch and sugar.

Don't blindly believe internet posts saying tomatoes can cure diabetes or should be completely avoided. They are generally safe, but you should always consult your doctor to understand how they fit into your personalized diet plan.

My doctor told me that tomatoes are non-starchy vegetables with a very low glycemic load. They are rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene, making them an excellent choice for a daily diabetic diet.
