Can diabetics have corn tortillas?
My son brought these corn tortillas home from his trip abroad. He says they are healthy, but I am diabetic, so I wanted to check if I can eat them safely.

I am actually quite new to understanding diabetes diets as my uncle was just diagnosed. From what I read, corn tortillas are better than normal ones, but does anyone know if they still spike sugar levels badly if we have them for dinner?
They are actually a decent option compared to maida ones because corn has a bit more fiber. Just ensure you practice portion control and maybe combine it with some light yoga or walking after the meal to keep your circulation and sugar stable.
I have been managing my sugar for twelve years now and I eat them occasionally without issues. The trick is to never eat them plain—always load them up with lots of veggies, dal, or lean protein. It is totally doable if you are practical about the rest of your meal.
My teenage son has type 1 and he really loves tacos, so we use yellow corn tortillas. I always pair them with a good portion of paneer bhurji or chicken and lots of salad to slow down any sugar spike. Don't worry, just keep an eye on the portions.
Corn tortillas are definitely a better carb source than white flour because they are whole grain, but carbs are still carbs. Just track your total macro intake for the day and maybe hit the gym for some strength training to help your body process those carbs better.
