Can diabetics get pregnant?

My husband and I are newly married and hoping to start a family soon. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few years ago. I'm wondering if it will be difficult for me to get pregnant. Is it possible for diabetics to conceive?

Haha of course they can, diabetes doesn't mean your body forgets how to make a baby! You just have to deal with extra finger pricks and doctors tracking you like a high-profile celebrity. Keep those blood sugar numbers in check and you are good to go.

Yes, absolutely possible, but your diet needs a complete overhaul. I focused heavily on whole grains, high-fiber veggies, and strictly cut out direct sugars to keep my levels stable before planning. Managing your food intake makes a huge difference in having a safe pregnancy.

Yes, they definitely can. My wife managed her diabetes beautifully during pregnancy by working very closely with her endocrinologist from day one.

Many women in our times had healthy babies by maintaining a good routine with regular walking and home-cooked meals. However, pregnancy with diabetes is a serious matter, so please do not self-manage. Go see your doctor regularly to monitor your HbA1c levels.

I am also trying to understand this because my husband and I want to start a family soon. Is it safe to continue with regular oral medicines, or do most doctors shift you to insulin injections during pregnancy? I am a bit scared about the process.
