Can diabetics eat walnuts?

My doctor told me to include more nuts in my diet for heart health, and walnuts are often mentioned as very beneficial. I have diabetes, so I want to confirm. Are walnuts good for diabetics, and how many can I eat per day?

Haan bilkul kha sakte hain, akhrot toh bahut hi acche hote hain na! They are full of healthy fats and don't spike your sugar at all. Just have 3-4 walnuts daily in the morning.

Walnuts are generally safe and healthy for diabetes. However, always get your lipid profile and kidney functions checked regularly to ensure your body is processing nuts and fats correctly.

I used to feel so anxious before eating even a single nut, worried it would affect my reports. But walnuts are actually one of the safest things you can eat. They really helped lower my fasting sugar over time.

I read so many articles about calorie density in nuts and got a bit worried. But walnuts have a very low glycemic index, so they shouldn't cause any spikes. Just stick to a small handful daily to be safe.

When I visited my doctor at Max Hospital, they highly recommended adding walnuts to my diet for heart health. But you should clearly ask your own doctor about the exact daily portion size that is right for your body.
