Can diabetics eat strawberries?

I love strawberries, especially in season, but I've been told to be careful with fruits because of the natural sugars. Now that I have diabetes, I'm confused if I can still enjoy them. Are strawberries generally safe for diabetics to eat, and if so, how much?

My doctor told me that strawberries are actually one of the best fruits for diabetics. They have a low glycemic index of around 40 and are packed with fiber, which slows down glucose absorption. Just stick to a small cup of fresh ones.

As someone managing thyroid, I know we have to keep checking our metabolic health. Strawberries are low in sugar, which is great, but make sure to get your regular sugar tests done and discuss fruit portions with your doctor.

I was diagnosed with borderline diabetes recently and was terrified of eating fruits. I tried strawberries last week and checked my post-meal sugars—absolutely no spike! They are very safe and taste amazing.

Yes, absolutely! Strawberries are basically the VIPs of the diabetic fruit world. You can eat them without worrying about turning into a sugar balloon, just don't dip them in chocolate sauce!

Strawberries are excellent because they are rich in antioxidants and water content. In my line of work, we always suggest berries over mangoes or grapes for sugar patients. Just have them fresh, not canned or frozen with syrup.

Don't just eat things because people online say they are safe. Every diabetic body reacts differently to fruits. It is always best to verify with your doctor and test your own blood sugar levels to see how you respond.

My son has type 1 diabetes and strawberries are his absolute favorite snack. They are low in carbs and high in vitamin C, making them a very practical and healthy treat for him. I highly recommend them.

Listen, strawberries are perfectly fine to eat. Just don't go eating a whole kilo at once. Eat a handful in the afternoon as a snack, and you will be completely good.

I barely sleep 5 hours a day and constantly crave sweets. Strawberries with a dollop of unsweetened cream is my go-to low-carb dessert that saves my sanity and doesn't crash my energy levels.

I remember crying in the grocery store when I was first diagnosed, thinking I could never enjoy fruit again. Finding out that I could safely eat strawberries was such a huge relief. They are truly a blessing.

I have lived with diabetes for 25 years now. Take it from my experience, fresh berries like strawberries are a wonderful gift for us. Eat them without worry, just keep your portion to a small bowl.

I log my meals on MyFitnessPal and strawberries have a fantastic carb-to-fiber ratio. A 100g serving is only about 8g of carbs, which is incredibly easy to fit into your daily macros.
