Can diabetics eat stevia?

I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and I'm finding it hard to completely give up sweet things. My friend suggested using stevia as a sugar substitute. Is stevia safe for diabetics, especially during pregnancy, or are there any side effects?

Yes, stevia is completely safe for diabetics as it doesn't raise blood sugar levels at all.

Stevia is a lifesaver for my evening chai, though it takes some time to get used to the slightly weird aftertaste. But hey, at least my doctor is happy and my sugar is under control!

Stevia is awesome! It is a natural sweetener made from leaves and has zero calories. I use it in my tea and homemade desserts and it works beautifully without any spikes.

I use stevia to manage my sugar, but remember that lifestyle changes like daily walks are equally important. Keep checking your blood pressure and sugar levels regularly to make sure everything stays in the normal range.

Honestly, nothing beats real sugar, but stevia is the best compromise we have. It satisfies my sweet tooth in my morning coffee without making my glucose monitor go crazy.

I know how scary it is to try any sweet substitute when you are worried about your health. But don't worry, stevia is thoroughly researched and does not impact insulin levels. It's a very safe starting point.

Stevia is a great plant-based alternative to sugar. Just make sure you read the ingredients on the pack, as some brands mix erythritol or dextrose with it, which might affect some people.
