Can diabetics eat red potatoes?

I'm trying to choose healthier foods since my diabetes diagnosis. I've noticed red potatoes are available. Are red potatoes a better option for diabetics compared to regular potatoes, or is there no significant difference?

God has given us so many beautiful foods to sustain us. Red potatoes are a bit better than regular ones, but keep your portion small. Just stay positive, eat mindfully, and take good care of your health.

Honestly, I am too tired to even cook, let alone worry about red versus white potatoes. Potatoes are my comfort food when I can't sleep. But if you have diabetes, maybe don't make them a daily habit or you'll lose sleep over your sugar levels!

Along with my high BP, I have to be very careful with salt and heavy carbs like potatoes. If you eat them, make sure they are boiled and not fried. Keep monitoring your blood pressure and sugar levels regularly.

I have thyroid issues and have to get regular blood tests done to see what food suits me. Potatoes of any kind have a lot of starch. You should get your fasting sugar checked and talk to your doctor about this.

Red potatoes contain slightly more fiber, but they still have a high glycemic load. From what I have seen, yoga helps improve insulin sensitivity, but we must still be very cautious with starchy root vegetables.
