Can diabetics eat raw honey?

I've heard that raw honey is healthier than regular sugar and has medicinal properties. I have diabetes, and I'm wondering if I can use it as a sweetener in my tea. Is raw honey safe for diabetics, or does it still raise blood sugar?

True, honey still raises blood sugar quite fast. It is better to use it very sparingly and only after asking your doctor.

Honestly, even natural things like raw honey can mess up your levels. Like I do for my thyroid, you should get your HbA1c checked regularly and consult your doc before adding honey to your diet.

In our times, we thought honey is a safe home remedy for everything. But for sugar patients, even pure ghar ka honey acts just like sugar in the body. Do not take it without checking with your Ayurvedic doctor first.

With regular pranayama and a clean lifestyle, my body feels much more balanced now. Still, I avoid raw honey because it is very concentrated. Every body reacts differently so do a small blood test after eating to see its effect.

Let us be real, sugar is sugar whether it comes from bees or a cane plant. Honey has a high glycemic index so it will spike your levels. Better avoid it and stick to what your clinical nutritionist advises.

I always prefer natural solutions over chemical ones, but diabetes is a serious issue. If your fasting sugar is already high, raw honey will only make it worse. Don't experiment on your own, see a doctor first.

I was just reading about this online because my uncle has diabetes. Actually, raw honey has some antioxidants, but it still has lots of carbs. It seems safer to avoid it or use only a tiny drop occasionally.

If you do eat a little bit of honey, make sure you manage it with some physical activity. I always go for a brisk 30-minute walk after meals to keep my sugar stable, but please ask your coach or doc first.
