Can diabetics eat raisins?

I sometimes add a few raisins to my morning oats, but my wife said they might be too sugary for my diabetes. Is it okay for me to eat raisins, maybe a small amount, or should I avoid all dried fruits?

Kishmish has concentrated natural sugar, so eating them directly can raise your blood glucose quickly. A traditional way is to soak just 3 or 4 raisins in water overnight and have them in the morning, which is much gentler on the body.

I used to think raisins were natural and harmless, so I ate handfuls of them daily until my doctor warned me my HbA1c was dangerously high. Please do regular blood tests and strictly limit dried fruits under a doctor's guidance.

Managing thyroid along with diabetes makes my metabolism slow, so raisins definitely spike my sugar levels. I suggest checking your levels regularly and following up with your doctor before adding dried fruits to your diet.

Agree with others, raisins have very concentrated sugar. Keeping it to just a tiny sprinkle on oats once in a while is the safest way.

Haan ji, kishmish toh kafi meethi hoti hai toh sugar badhne ka darr rehta hai. Dry fruits mein badam ya akhrot khana zyada safe hai. Raisins ko jitna ho sake avoid hi karein na.

I don't eat raisins anymore because even a small sweet dish with raisins spikes my glucose levels immediately. I found that raw almonds and walnuts work much better for my afternoon hunger cravings.
