Can diabetics eat mayo?

I've started making more salads at home since my husband was diagnosed with diabetes. I usually add a bit of mayo for taste. Is mayonnaise okay for him to eat, or should I look for other dressing options?

At this point, my doctor has basically put me on a grass-only diet! Mayonnaise is mostly oil and saturated fat, which isn't great for our hearts since diabetes already puts us at risk. Better to stick to mint chutney, honestly.

Mayonnaise is highly processed and contains unhealthy refined oils that can cause internal inflammation. I feel that eating fresh, home-prepared foods like hung curd dip keeps the body light, energetic, and naturally balanced.

My teenage son has sugar issues and loves burgers with mayo. I make a healthy alternative at home using hung curd, garlic, and a little olive oil. It tastes just as creamy and is so much safer for his health.

Don't believe packaged labels claiming 'low-fat' or 'diabetic-safe' mayo are healthy. They often add starch or sugar to maintain the taste. It is always best to check with your doctor or nutritionist before adding these to your diet.

I used to panic every time I accidentally ate a sandwich with mayo, thinking my sugar would jump. But my doctor reassured me that a small amount occasionally won't do major harm, as long as your overall daily diet is clean and balanced.

I used to ignore the high fat and calorie content in dips like mayo, thinking only sugar mattered, until my cholesterol and HbA1c shot up together. Please don't take it lightly, go for a proper lipid and sugar test and consult your doctor.

My grandmother always says homemade butter or fresh curd is best, and she is right. Mayo has too many preservatives and fats that are bad for diabetes. I prefer to follow my doctor's advice and completely avoid packaged mayonnaise.
