Can diabetics eat macaroni and cheese?

My husband was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes last year. He used to love macaroni and cheese as a treat. Is it something he should strictly avoid, or can we make a diabetic-friendly version for him once in a while?

It is made of refined flour and heavy cheese, so it will definitely cause a quick sugar spike. Best to avoid it or have a tiny portion with veggies.

Oh, that creamy cheese is so hard to resist! But since macaroni is usually made of maida, it's a bit of a nightmare for sugar levels. I usually satisfy my craving by making veggie-loaded wheat pasta with just a sprinkle of cheese.

Haan na, managing cravings is so difficult. But macaroni has too much maida and it spikes blood sugar very quickly. Better to avoid it completely and eat healthy homemade food instead, ho na?

Don't listen to people saying 'organic' or gluten-free mac and cheese is safe for diabetes. Everyone's body reacts differently to carbs. Please check with your doctor or clinical nutritionist to see what actually fits your diet plan.

It is definitely not the best choice because of all the processed carbs! But you can try making a healthy version at home with whole grain macaroni and loads of colorful veggies to make it safer and fun. 😊
