Can diabetics eat groundnuts?

I often munch on groundnuts (moongfali) as a snack, especially in the evenings with my tea. Now that I have diabetes, I'm worried if they are safe for me. Can diabetics eat groundnuts, or do they affect blood sugar levels too much?

Yes, groundnuts are safe. They have a low glycemic index and are rich in healthy fats and protein, which helps control sugar.

Groundnuts are a great source of sustained energy and protein. If your doctor allows you to exercise, having a handful of roasted groundnuts before your daily walk or workout is perfect to prevent your sugar levels from dropping too low.

Groundnuts are very affordable compared to expensive nuts like almonds or walnuts. I always keep a jar of roasted peanuts at home for my evening snack. It is highly budget-friendly and keeps my sugar levels absolutely stable.

My dad has type 2 and he literally munches on roasted peanuts almost every evening with his sugar-free tea. It doesn't affect his blood sugar at all, so it's a pretty safe and easy snack option.

Haha, yes you can! But please don't finish a whole packet while watching a cricket match. Groundnuts are highly addictive, and while your sugar might be fine, the scale will definitely show some bad news next week!

I have tried so many home remedies for my diabetes over the last ten years. In my experience, eating a small fistful of soaked groundnuts in the morning is wonderful. It keeps you full and prevents those mid-day hunger pangs.
