Can diabetics eat greek yogurt?

I'm trying to find some healthy and filling snack options for my father who has diabetes. Greek yogurt is quite popular now, and I was wondering if it's a good choice for him. Can diabetics eat Greek yogurt, especially the plain variety?

When I was first diagnosed, I felt so miserable because I had to give up all my favorite desserts. Discovering unsweetened Greek yogurt was a lifesaver because it is thick and creamy like sweet curd but doesn't spike my sugar. It really helped me cope with the diet changes.

Yes, absolutely! Just make sure it is plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt and not the flavored varieties.

I just got my HbA1c down from 7.2 to 5.8 recently, and plain Greek yogurt was a huge part of my diet! It kept me full for hours and prevented those sudden sugar cravings. Just avoid the blueberry or strawberry flavored ones in the market since they have sugar syrup.

Yes, you can eat it without any hesitation. I have been using Greek yogurt as a base for my evening snacks for years. The high protein and fat content actually help stabilize your blood sugar levels. Add a few pumpkin seeds or a pinch of cinnamon for flavor.

Absolutely! Plain Greek yogurt is amazing for diabetics. If you track your macros on MyFitnessPal, you'll see it has double the protein and fewer carbs compared to regular dahi. Just make sure you buy the 'plain' or 'zero sugar' version, not the flavored ones.
