Can diabetics eat fresh pineapple?

My uncle has diabetes, and someone told him to completely avoid pineapple because it's very sweet. But I've also heard that some fruits are okay in moderation. Can diabetics safely eat fresh pineapple, maybe in small quantities?

I can't give medical advice, but in my own experience, fresh pineapple can spike sugar if eaten in large amounts. My uncle has type 2 and he only eats two small pieces occasionally. He avoids the canned ones entirely as they are too sweet.

Dealing with diabetes for 8 years has taught me that pineapple has a medium glycemic index, so you have to be careful. A realistic tip is to limit your portion to a small cup and pair it with some nuts like almonds to slow down sugar absorption. Never drink pineapple juice.

I was just diagnosed with prediabetes and I am really confused about fruits. Is a small slice of fresh pineapple okay to eat, or should I avoid it completely? Please let me know how you all manage it.

Nature's sweet fruits are beautiful, but pineapple needs to be eaten with mindfulness. Enjoying three or four small chunks of fresh pineapple after a gentle pranayama session is generally fine. Stay active to help your body process the natural sugars.

Please don't blindly follow internet advice claiming pineapple is completely safe. It has a higher sugar content than berries or apples, which can cause spikes in some individuals. Always verify your fruit portions with your doctor or dietician based on your sugar readings.

Haan bilkul kha sakte hain, par portion control rakhna padega na! Pineapple thoda meetha hota hai, toh do-teen piece se zyada mat khana ek baar mein. Aur juice toh bilkul mat pina, bahut sugar badhata hai.

Look, plain and simple: pineapple is moderately high in sugar. Don't go eating a whole bowl of it thinking it's healthy fruit. Keep it to a few small slices as a treat once in a while, and skip the canned variety completely.

In our family, we always believe in home moderation, but we trust the doctor's words first. Our family doctor advised my husband to have fresh pineapple in very small portions, always with some fiber like cucumber or sprouts to balance the sugar.
