Can diabetics eat cranberries?

My wife suggested I try cranberries for their health benefits. I have diabetes, so I'm hesitant about anything that might be sugary. Can diabetics safely eat cranberries?

Haan na, dried cranberries are so sweet sometimes. Actually fresh ones are okay but they are very sour, so people add sugar to them. Carefully purchase empty-calorie ones, otherwise sugar spike ho jayega.

Fresh cranberries are great for antioxidants, but watch out for dried ones which are packed with added sugars. I usually toss a few fresh ones into my protein shake or oatmeal after a heavy leg workout. Just keep moving and manage the portions.

I understand your confusion, sweet cravings are hard to handle in diabetes. I tried eating unsweetened cranberry juice with warm water in the morning, which helped my UTI issues too. Just make sure there is no added sugar in the packet you buy.

Honestly, I just stick to fresh amla or jamun instead of cranberry because they are easier to find without sugar. I once ate dried cranberries and my blood sugar went up to 210, so I personally avoid them completely now.

I was looking this up for my dad recently! Unsweetened cranberries are actually fine, but the dried ones in the supermarket are basically candy. Try to find the raw or frozen ones if you want to make a quick chatni or juice.
