Can diabetics eat chips?

My doctor told me to control my diet strictly after my recent diagnosis. I'm really missing my evening snack of chips. Thoda taste ke liye, can I have a small packet sometimes?

Honestly, regular deep-fried potato chips will spike your sugar super fast. If your doctor allows, you can try some baked ragi chips but keep the portion tiny. Also, make sure to go for a brisk 15-20 min walk right after to help manage that spike.

Beta, I have lived with diabetes for twenty years now. Initially, I also missed my evening snacks and tea-time chips. But trust me, you learn to manage; just replace chips with roasted chana and your body will thank you in the long run.

Oh god, I always overthink this too and keep checking my glucose monitor every hour. Chips have so many simple carbs and hidden sodium, it's scary. If you really have to, just eat 2 or 3 pieces and hide the pack, or better, consult your dietician.

I completely understand the craving and the constant worry of what to eat. It is so stressful thinking about every single bite. Better to avoid normal packaged chips, maybe try roasted makhana with light salt instead so you don't feel deprived.

My doctor clearly explained that the glycemic index of commercial potato chips is extremely high. They cause sudden insulin spikes and are loaded with bad fats. He advised me to switch to home-baked beetroot or kale chips if I ever get those crunchy cravings.
