Can diabetics eat chia seeds?

I'm trying to improve my gut health and regulate my blood sugar levels since my diabetes diagnosis. Chia seeds are very popular for their fiber content. Can diabetics eat chia seeds, and how should I incorporate them?

Chia seeds are incredible for diabetes because they are packed with fiber and omega-3. I add a tablespoon to my post-workout protein shake, and it really helps with satiety and blood sugar control.

I have been managing type 2 diabetes for 10 years. My daily routine includes soaking one teaspoon of chia seeds in water for 15 minutes and drinking it before lunch, which works wonders for preventing post-meal spikes.

I remember crying when I was first diagnosed because everything seemed off-limits. Finding out about safe foods like chia seeds made me feel a bit normal again; they are so easy to consume in curd or water.

Look, chia seeds are highly beneficial for sugar control, but don't expect them to be a miracle cure. Soak them in water or buttermilk and have them, but keep taking your prescribed medicines properly.

While chia seeds are generally very safe and highly recommended for fiber, it is always best to discuss any major dietary additions with your doctor to make sure it doesn't interfere with your current medications.
