Can diabetics eat cheese and crackers?

For evening snacks, I often opt for cheese and crackers. I'm diabetic, so I'm trying to be more mindful of my choices. Is a combination of cheese and crackers generally okay for diabetics?

Yes, but the catch is you have to eat more of the cheese and very few crackers! Crackers are basically maida in disguise. If you eat the whole box, your sugar levels will throw a wild party.

Look, plain cheese is fine but those market crackers are filled with refined flour and sodium. Buy high-fiber multigrain crackers if you really want that crunch, and limit it to two or three pieces maximum.

Haan kha toh sakte hain, par dhyan rakhna na ki crackers pure maida wale na ho. Plain cream crackers avoid karo, wheat wale khao aur upar ek cheese slice laga lo, toh badhiya snack ban jata hai.

My teenage son has type 1 diabetes and loves this snack. I buy sugar-free ragi crackers for him and pair it with a single cheese cube. It works as a great evening snack without causing any major glucose peaks.

The protein and fat in cheese actually help slow down the absorption of carbs from the crackers. Just make sure the crackers are whole wheat and low in sodium. It is a decent combination if done in moderation.

Be at peace, my friend. Eating a small portion of cheese and whole wheat crackers with a content heart will do no harm. Just keep your portion moderate and stay active.

Yes, you can have them. Just choose sugar-free, whole-grain crackers and portion the cheese carefully.

I have been managing diabetes for over a decade. The rule for cheese and crackers is simple: check the nutrition label for trans fats and sodium. Go for sugar-free whole wheat crackers, top with cheese, and never exceed 4 pieces.

I always get so stressed reading cracker boxes because of the hidden palm oil and starch content. Is there any specific brand that is 100% safe, or should we just avoid crackers completely and stick to raw paneer?

I used to make my own baked roasted oats crackers at home because market ones are too processed. Eating them with a bit of homemade paneer or cheese works beautifully for my sugar and is much cleaner.
