Can diabetics eat cereal for breakfast?

My husband has diabetes, and we are trying to find quick and healthy breakfast options. Cereal seems convenient, but I'm worried about the sugar content. Can diabetics eat cereal for breakfast, or is it better to avoid it?

Actually yaar, breakfast cereals are mostly highly processed and full of corn starch. Even the 'fit' oats brands have added maltodextrin. Better to eat boiled eggs or normal home-cooked poha with veggies instead.

My mother was recently told she has high fasting sugar, and she usually eats wheat flakes for breakfast. Is wheat flakes cereal also unsafe for her, or should we switch her breakfast to something like moong dal chilla?

Honestly, boxed cereals are just low-key junk food disguised as healthy. My uncle stopped eating cornflakes in the morning and his energy levels got so much better. Upma or sprouts are way better options.

Subah subah dabba wala khana khane se bachiye babu. Hum toh kehte hain ki garm garm daliya ya suji ka upma banakar khaiye, woh pet ke liye bhi acha hai aur sugar bhi nahi badhata hai.

I have both hypertension and diabetes, so I avoid processed cereals completely as they raise my blood pressure too. A hearty breakfast of vegetable daliya and regular morning walks have helped me manage my readings much better. Always monitor your levels.
