Can diabetics eat carrots?
My mother, who is diabetic, loves adding carrots to her sabzis and salads. We always thought they were very healthy. Are carrots truly good for diabetics, or should she limit her intake?

Yes, they can. There is a common myth that sweet veggies are bad, but carrots are packed with fiber and vitamin A. Just watch your portions and don't drink carrot juice, stick to whole carrots.
Agree with everyone here. Just try eating them raw rather than cooked, as raw carrots keep you full longer.
I have high BP along with borderline sugar, so lifestyle changes are everything. Carrots are fine as part of a balanced lunch salad, but make sure to walk for 30 minutes daily and keep getting your HbA1c checked every three months.
I've been managing diabetes since 2015. Carrots are absolutely fine, but never have them in gajar ka halwa form, obviously! Keep them raw in your salad plates, and always eat them before your main roti or rice meal.
Carrots are a very nutritious vegetable, but as a pure vegetarian, I always balance my meals carefully. Since carrots have natural sugars, make sure you don't club them with other sweet root vegetables like beetroot or sweet potato in the same meal.
Actually, my doctor told me to eat more veggies, so I bought kilos of carrots. Now my jaw is tired from chewing raw carrots every day, but at least my sugar levels are happy! Just eat them raw and don't make sweet dishes out of them.
I cannot comment on the medical side of this, but personally, I eat half a carrot daily during lunch. It has never caused any sudden sugar spikes on my glucose monitor. Still, check what works for your body.
