Can diabetics eat butternut squash?

My wife recently started making dishes with butternut squash, which is new for us. Since I am diabetic, I am always careful about new food items. Can diabetics eat butternut squash without any issues?

At this point in my life, my doctor has put so many restrictions on my diet that even looking at a sweet vegetable makes me sweat. Butternut squash is actually decent because of the high fiber, but just eat a small portion. Don't go making a halwa out of it!

Haan na, butternut squash is quite healthy and safe for sugar control. It has a lot of fiber which helps in slow digestion. Just don't put sugar or heavy creams while cooking it, ho na.

It is a very grounding and nutritious vegetable. Because of its natural sweetness and fiber, it digests slowly and doesn't cause sudden spikes if prepared simply. Cook it with basic spices and enjoy the natural gifts of nature.

You can definitely eat butternut squash, but do keep an eye on your portions. It contains carbohydrates, so it's best to substitute other carbs in your meal, like rice or roti, when you are having this squash.

Hey, don't stress too much about eating squash! It is packed with vitamins and is much better than having refined carbs. Just roast a small portion with black pepper and olive oil, and you've got a super healthy side dish.

In India, butternut squash can sometimes be imported and expensive compared to our local red pumpkin (kaddu). Since red pumpkin is cheaper and has very similar health benefits, I prefer that to save money for my monthly medicines and regular blood sugar tests.
