Can diabetics eat beets?

My father has type 2 diabetes, and we are constantly monitoring his diet. He enjoys beets in various forms, but I'm concerned about their natural sugar content. Are beets generally okay for diabetics to eat?

In our family, we make beetroot poriyal very regularly, and my elders always said it is good for the blood. However, I checked with my doctor and he advised me to eat it in moderation and avoid cooking it with any sweet ingredients. Trusting your doctor's custom advice is always the safest path.

Eating beets in their raw, natural form is very beneficial for maintaining body energy and purifying the system. I enjoy a small portion of grated beetroot with some lemon juice and mint leaves. It keeps the body light and does not cause any rapid sugar fluctuations.

Haan, bilkul kha sakte ho par thoda limits mein hi rakhna na. Beetroot ka salad bana ke khao, par uska juice mat peena kyunki usse sugar jaldi badhti hai. Normal raw khane mein koi dikkat nahi hai.

We need to be quite cautious with root vegetables like beets because they do contain natural sugars. I restrict my intake to just half a cup of raw salad and always measure my blood glucose levels afterward to ensure there are no sudden spikes. Portion control is absolutely essential.

I used to love beetroot raita and was so worried when I had to watch my sugar levels. But I found that adding grated beet to fresh curd doesn't cause any major spike for me and tastes amazing. It is a really practical way to enjoy them!

Beets have natural sugars, so it is always safer to get your doctor's opinion before adding them to your regular meals. Everyone's body reacts differently, so a quick test or consultation with your physician is the best way to prevent any health risks.

I always feel a bit nervous before eating beets because they look and taste so sweet. Did anyone else notice a slight rise in their morning sugar after eating beets for dinner? I would really love to know if this is common.
