Can diabetics drink pineapple juice?

I just went through a phase of high blood sugar after drinking pineapple juice last week thinking it was healthy. Trust me, it spikes your glucose insanely fast because it is highly concentrated. Better to completely avoid the juice form.
I used to panic every time my husband ate or drank anything sweet, but our doctor explained things calmly. Pineapple juice is very high in natural sugar and lacks fiber, so it's not recommended. Don't worry though, you can still have a tiny piece of fresh pineapple as a treat occasionally!
