Can diabetics drink coffee with milk?

I enjoy my morning coffee with a little milk. Now that I have diabetes, I'm trying to be very careful about everything I consume. Can diabetics drink coffee with milk, or is it better to have it black?

I worry so much about hidden carbs, and milk actually has lactose which is a type of sugar. If you have coffee with milk, maybe use low-fat milk and measure the quantity carefully. It shouldn't hurt but checking your blood sugar after drinking it might help ease your mind.

I was just reading about this! Unsweetened coffee with milk is generally okay, but the fat and lactose in milk can slow down digestion slightly. As long as you don't add refined sugar, it seems to be a safe option for most diabetics.

Look, simple rule: coffee with milk is fine, but do not add sugar. If you are used to sweet coffee, use a tiny bit of stevia or just get used to the natural taste. And don't drink three cups a day, keep it to one.

Since I deal with insulin resistance, I have to watch my milk intake. Coffee with a splash of skimmed milk or almond milk works best for me. Just try not to drink huge mugs of milky coffee, as the carbs can add up quickly.

I used to drink multiple cups of milky coffee thinking it was harmless, but the hidden sugars and portions messed up my HbA1c. Please don't ignore your portion sizes. Get a regular checkup done and ask your doctor about your daily limit.

As a vegetarian, milk is a good source of protein, so coffee with low-fat milk is fine. However, do not consume it with heavy snacks. Keep it simple, sugar-free, and try to have it in the first half of the day.

I track my meals on my fitness app and coffee with 50ml of low-fat milk only adds about 3-4 grams of carbs. It is perfectly fine as long as you log it into your daily carb allowance. Just skip the sugar and heavy creamers.

I have been managing my diabetes for 6 years. I drink coffee with skimmed milk every morning. I make sure to avoid full-cream milk because the fats along with lactose can affect insulin levels. Always keep it sugar-free.
