Can diabetics do keto?

My cousin swears by the keto diet for managing his health, and he thinks it could help me too, since I have diabetes. I'm a bit skeptical, as it seems very restrictive. Can diabetics do keto, or is it too risky for blood sugar management?

Instead of going straight to a heavy keto diet, why not start with light cardio? A simple 30-minute brisk walk after meals helps lower spikes naturally. If your doctor gives the green light, then you can slowly adjust your carbs.

As someone managing type 2 diabetes, I find keto a bit too extreme. Cutting carbs entirely can make your sugar levels fluctuate wildly if you are on medications. I prefer a balanced, low-GI diet instead.

Honestly, keto is highly overrated and can be quite tough on your kidneys, especially if you have diabetes. Don't just follow internet trends blindly. Get a proper diet plan designed for your specific body type.

I consult the dieticians at Manipal Hospital, and they always say keto needs extreme monitoring for diabetics due to the risk of ketoacidosis. Do not start this on your own. Ask your doctor clearly at your next visit.

I tried a high-fat keto diet without asking anyone and my cholesterol shot up horribly, which complicated my diabetes further. Please do not make the same mistake. Discuss this with a specialist first.

Keep your mind calm and positive, beta. Eating simple, fresh ghar ka khana with gratitude is often the best medicine. If you wish to try new diets like keto, just ensure your body feels peaceful with it and check with a doctor.

Listen, don't rush into these fancy diets. Your health is way too precious to take risks. If you really want to try keto, let's make sure we do it under proper guidance so you stay safe. Take it slow, okay?
