Can diabetics do intermittent fasting?

I've heard a lot about intermittent fasting helping with weight loss and managing blood sugar. I have Type 2 diabetes and am trying to control my sugar better. Can diabetics do intermittent fasting, and is it a safe practice for us?

Honestly, I tried doing 16:8 fasting last year because my colleagues were raving about it. My sugars actually dropped too low in the morning and I felt super dizzy. I had to stop and stick to small, frequent meals instead.

Haan, log karte toh hain par isme bohot risk hota hai. Agar aapki sugar medicine chal rahi hai toh sudden fasting se low sugar ho sakti hai na. Ek baar apne doctor se thoda discuss kar lo pehle.

I go to Kokilaben Hospital for my checkups and my endocrinologist strictly advised against fasting without adjusting insulin dosages. You really need a customized plan. Please book an appointment and ask your doctor clearly before starting.

Fasting can work, but for diabetics, workout timing becomes tricky. If you train in a fasted state, your glucose levels might crash or spike unexpectedly. Better to keep a light protein snack handy and monitor your body closely.

My teenager was diagnosed with diabetes and wanted to try fasting for weight loss. I had to be very firm because long gaps without food can be dangerous for youngsters. We focus on healthy home-cooked meals every few hours instead.

Yes, some people do it safely, but safety should come first. Do consult your family physician before changing your eating patterns. Take care.

I absolutely freaked out when my dad's sugar dropped to 65 during his first fasting attempt. But we adjusted his medicine timing with his doctor and now he fasts quite comfortably. It gets easier once you find the right balance, don't worry.

I get so anxious just thinking about long fasting hours and how it might impact internal organs. If you really want to try it, maybe start with a very short fasting window first? Just make sure you are tracking your numbers closely so you don't panic.

Along with diabetes, I have high blood pressure, so extreme diet changes can mess up my whole system. I stick to regular daily walks and routine blood tests every three months. Keeping a stable routine works much better for me.

Please be very careful with this. I tried intermittent fasting on my own and ended up in the ICU with severe hypoglycemia. It is not something to experiment with without strict medical supervision.
