Can diabetic nerve pain go away?

My father has diabetic neuropathy in his feet, and he's always in so much pain. The doctor said it's nerve damage. I was wondering if this kind of pain can ever completely go away, or is it something he has to live with forever?

Yes, diabetic nerve pain can definitely subside, but it requires strict blood sugar control. When glucose levels stay in target, the irritation in the nerves reduces. Sometimes, your doctor might prescribe specific nerve-calming medications to help you sleep comfortably, so do ask them.

It won't just vanish overnight, but yes, it can go away to a large extent. The formula is simple: bring your HbA1c down and keep it there. If you continue to have high spikes, the pain will only get worse, so get a proper treatment plan from your endocrinologist.

I was researching this for my dad and found that while the nerve damage itself might not completely reverse, the pain and burning can definitely reduce. Once the sugar spikes stop, the nerves stop sending those constant pain signals. It's all about keeping glucose stable.

Haan bilkul kam ho jata hai, par uske liye thoda mehnat karni padegi na. Jab tak aap meetha aur high carb khana band nahi karoge, tab tak pain me aaram nahi milega. Apne doctor se bat karke b12 supplements bhi shuru kar sakte ho.

I used to have terrible burning in my feet ten years ago when my diabetes was poorly managed. But as I grew older, I became very disciplined with my walking and diet, and today I rarely feel any nerve pain. Have patience, it does get better.

I was so anxious when the tingling first started, I couldn't stop googling about permanent paralysis. But please don't worry, my doctor assured me that the pain is just a warning sign from the body. Once you manage your sugar, the pain really starts to fade.

Yes, with consistent blood sugar control and prescribed nerve medications, the burning and tingling pain can reduce significantly.

The burning in my toes used to keep me awake till 3 AM every night, it was pure torture. Honestly, the only thing that made it go away was strictly cutting down on my late-night carb cravings. Now I can actually sleep in peace!
