Can diabetic drink beetroot juice?

I've been trying to include more healthy juices in my diet, and my nutritionist suggested beetroot juice for general health. However, I have diabetes, so I'm always cautious about fruit and vegetable juices. Is beetroot juice safe for diabetics to drink, or will it spike my sugar?

Hey! Beetroot actually has a sweet taste, so drinking it as a juice can spike your sugar really fast because all the fiber is lost. Instead of juicing, try having it raw in a salad or lightly sautéed. It is much safer that way and keeps you full too!

Whole beets are great for blood flow and stamina, but juicing them strips away the crucial fiber, causing rapid insulin spikes. If you want the nitrate benefits, eat half a cup of boiled beetroot pre-workout instead. Always test your post-meal glucose to see how your body reacts.

Haan na, beetroot is very healthy, but juice directly hits your glucose levels. My father loves it, so I give him small pieces of beetroot with cucumber salad instead of juice. It is much safer for his sugar and good for digestion also.

No, liquid diets and fruit or vegetable juices should generally be avoided by diabetic patients. Beetroot has a medium glycemic index, and in juice form, its sugars are absorbed very rapidly. It is much better to eat a simple vegetarian salad with raw carrot and beetroot.

Actually, juicing is bad news for diabetics, yaar. My mom drank beetroot juice thinking it would help her Hb, but her sugar jumped up to 250 the next hour. Just eat it raw or skip it if your daily levels are already on the higher side.

Why waste money making juices that will only raise your sugar? Just cut half a beetroot into thin slices, squeeze some lemon on it, and eat it with your lunch. It gives you the nutrients, keeps your sugar stable, and doesn't cost extra effort.
